Betty's interest in baking had developed over the years and had become a cash generating sideline during the family's year in Connecticut. When the family purchased the Colonial House in 1979, Betty's baking talents came to the front and played a major part in building the business. Gradually, our guests prevailed on us to sell the fine baked goods that they had enjoyed during their visits to the Colonial House.
